Apple Music Guide: How to Find and Follow Friends

Apple Music has some great social features that allow you to connect with friends and see what they are listening to. Here is a guide on how to find friends, follow them, and customize your profile in Apple Music.

Set Up Your Apple Music Profile

The first step is to set up your profile in the Apple Music app:

  1. Open the Apple Music app
  2. Go to the Listen Now tab
  3. Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner
  4. Tap “Set Up Profile”
  5. Choose a profile photo and username
  6. Select privacy settings for your profile
  7. Tap “Done”

You can choose whether your profile is public or private. A public profile allows anyone to follow you while a private profile means only people you approve can follow you.

Once you’ve found your friends, following them is simple:

When you follow someone, you’ll be able to see their public playlists and what music they are listening to.

See What Friends Are Listening To

To see what your friends are listening to:

  • Go to the Listen Now tab
  • Scroll down to the “Friends Are Listening To” section
  • This will show albums and playlists your friends have recently played

You can also see what specific friends are listening to:

  • Go to your profile
  • Tap on a friend’s profile picture under “Following”
  • Scroll down to see their recent plays

Share Playlists

You can share your own playlists with friends:

  • Create a playlist
  • Edit the playlist
  • Enable “Show on My Profile” to make it public

Friends can then view your public playlists on your profile and listen to them.

Customize Profile

You can customize your Apple Music profile:

  • Photo: Tap on your current profile photo to change it
  • Name: Go to your profile, tap “Edit”, then tap your name to change it
  • Privacy: Control profile privacy and who can follow you
  • Playlists: Choose which playlists are public or private

Customizing your profile allows you to show off your musical taste and share playlists with friends.

Disable Profile

If you want to disable your profile:

  • Go to your profile
  • Tap the 3 dots in the top right corner
  • Tap “Delete Profile” to remove it

This will make your profile private and remove the ability for people to follow you.
