How To Change Your Connected Wallet in OpenSea NFT Marketplace

  1. Clear your browser cache and cookies. This helps ensure a clean slate when connecting a new wallet.
  2. Go to the OpenSea homepage and click “Login” to connect a wallet. Select your new desired wallet from the list. Popular options cited include MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, WalletConnect, Formatic, Ledger, and Trezor.
  3. You may need to approve the wallet connection through popups in OpenSea as well as in your wallet extension.
  4. Once connected, you can edit your profile as desired to match your previous one. However, the wallet address itself cannot be changed without creating a new account.
  5. You can transfer NFTs between wallets using the “Transfer” button in OpenSea. Make sure to enter the correct receiving address of your new connected wallet.

Key tips:

  • Use a hardware wallet like Ledger or Trezor for added security
  • Bookmark the legitimate OpenSea site to avoid phishing links
  • Never share your seed phrase or wallet credentials
  • If you suspect account compromise, mark your wallet as such within OpenSea’s settings
