How to Easily Cancel VIP Membership on IMVU

IMVU is a popular 3D avatar-based social platform that allows users to chat, customize avatars, and explore virtual worlds. IMVU offers a optional VIP membership which unlocks additional features and customization options for a monthly or yearly subscription fee.

If you no longer wish to pay for the VIP membership, canceling it is easy and can be done directly from the IMVU website or mobile app in just a few steps.

How to Cancel IMVU VIP Membership

Canceling IMVU VIP is simple whether you signed up on the website or in the mobile app:

On the IMVU Website

  1. Login to your IMVU account on the IMVU website.
  2. Click on “Account” in the top right.
  3. Click on “Settings” in the left sidebar.
  4. Under “VIP Memberships”, click “Cancel Renewal”.
  5. On the confirmation pop-up, click “Yes, cancel” to confirm.

The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current VIP membership period. You will continue having VIP access until that date.

In the IMVU Mobile App

  1. Open the IMVU app on your device.
  2. Tap your Avatar Icon in the top left.
  3. Scroll down and tap “Account Settings”.
  4. Tap “Manage Memberships”.
  5. Tap the red “Cancel Renewal” button.
  6. Confirm the cancellation in the pop-up.

As with the website, the cancellation occurs at the end of the current billing cycle so you keep access until then.

After Cancelling IMVU VIP

Once the cancellation goes into effect after your billing date, here is what happens:

  • You will revert to the free IMVU account status
  • VIP badges and icons will be removed from your profile
  • Extra credits previously granted with VIP will remain, but no additional credits will be given each month
  • Access to VIP-only items and customization will be lost
  • Advertisements may begin displaying again

Your avatar and all previous customizations and purchases will remain intact. You simply lose the special perks and features that come with the paid VIP upgrade.

If you change your mind after canceling VIP, you can always resume your membership. Just upgrade back to VIP in the app or website account settings.
