Before factory resetting, it’s crucial to back up any important data on your phone that you want to keep, such as contacts, photos, videos, etc. You can back up data to the cloud (Google Drive, OneDrive, etc.) or transfer files to a computer.

During the reset process, you may need to draw your screen unlock pattern or enter your password/PIN to proceed. This verifies it’s you doing the reset.
Wait for reset to complete
Once confirmed, the phone will restart into recovery mode to wipe itself back to factory settings. This removes all user data, accounts, apps, settings, etc. Be patient as it can take several minutes.
Set up phone as new
When the reset finishes, your OnePlus 6 will boot up like new. You’ll need to set up the phone from scratch, including adding your Google/other accounts, re-downloading apps, and customizing settings.
