- Under System, choose “Reset & Admin”.
- Look for the option called “Smart Interactivity” or “Viewing Data” and turn it Off. This will disable the WiFi hotspot broadcasting.
- You can also do a factory reset on the TV which should turn this feature off by default. Go to Reset & Admin > Reset TV to Factory Defaults.
Essentially that WiFi hotspot feature is used by Vizio to collect viewing data, so turning it off disables that data collection. Some models may refer to it as the “Smart Interactivity” setting instead.
If you still see the open WiFi network being broadcast even after disabling, some additional troubleshooting steps would be:
- Double check the setting is definitely turned Off under Reset & Admin
- Do a full power cycle (unplug TV for 1 minute)
- Factory reset the TV again if needed
