As an avid gamer and fan of RPGs like Cyberpunk 2077, I’ve spent countless hours exploring Night City and upgrading V’s cyberware and weapons. Accessing your inventory is essential for managing your gear, weapons, cyberware, quest items, and more. After many hours playing the game, I’ve become intimately familiar with the inventory system and how to efficiently navigate it on PC and console.

Opening the Inventory Screen
Opening your inventory in Cyberpunk 2077 is easy – just press the ‘I’ key on PC or the View/Back button on an Xbox controller. This will instantly open the inventory screen, pausing the game.
On PlayStation, tap the large touchpad to open the inventory.
Once open, you’ll see tabs at the top to access different inventory categories:
- Backpack – Weapons, armor, quest items, etc.

- Consumables – Healing items, buffs, grenades.
- Junk – Items to sell for money.
The inventory screen can feel overwhelming at first, but is easy to navigate once you understand the basic layout.

Managing Your Inventory
Learning to properly manage your inventory is key to keeping V deadly and effective. Here are my top tips:
- Break down junk items frequently for crafting components.
- Sell valuables you don’t need for extra eddies.
- Only keep weapons and armor around your current level.
- Equip clothing mods like armor mods and stat boosters.
- Upgrade weapons regularly at the crafting bench.
- Stock up on healing items and grenades before big fights.
- Remember quest items for important missions.
Quick Slots for Combat
You can assign consumables, grenades, and weapons to quick slots to use them rapidly in combat without opening your inventory.
To assign a quick slot, hover over the item and press the number you want to map it to, from 1-0. Then in combat, just press that number key to instantly use the item!
Conclusion
Once you understand the basics, you’ll be efficiently managing V’s inventory and build in no time. Quick access and navigation is key to keeping up your DPS and survival in the tough fights of Cyberpunk 2077.
