Connecting your Discord account to Spotify allows you to showcase what you’re listening to, discover new music from friends, and even listen along together. It’s a great way to bond over shared musical tastes.

Prerequisites
To connect Spotify to Discord, you’ll need:
- A Discord account
- A Spotify account (free or premium)
- The Discord desktop or mobile app
Connect Discord to Spotify (Desktop)
Connecting Spotify to the Discord desktop app is simple:
- Open the Discord desktop app
- Click on the User Settings icon (gear icon)
- Select Connections in the left menu
- Click on the Spotify icon
- Log into your Spotify account when prompted
- Click Agree to allow connection
Once connected, you’ll see Spotify listed under your connections.
Connect Discord to Spotify (Mobile)
The process is very similar on mobile:
- Open the Discord mobile app
- Tap your profile picture
- Tap Connections
- Tap Add
- Select Spotify
- Log into your Spotify account
- Tap Authorize
After authorizing, the connection will be complete.
With Spotify connected to Discord, you can showcase the music you’re jamming to.
On desktop, head to User Settings > Activity Status and make sure “Display Spotify as your status” is enabled under the Spotify section.
On mobile, open the Spotify app and go to Settings > Social and enable “Share my listening activity” and “Show friends what I’m listening to”.
Now your friends will see the Spotify tracks you’re rocking out to!
Discover New Music
See what your friends are playing on Spotify by checking their listening status on their profile.
Find something you like? Click the track name to open it right in the Spotify app. It’s a great way to discover new tunes.
Listen Along Together
Premium Spotify users can listen to music together with the Listen Along feature.
To start a session:
- Click a friend’s profile who is listening to Spotify
- Click Listen Along
- Jam together!
You’ll see who has joined your session on the bottom left. Listening together is bonding time!
Disconnect Spotify from Discord
If you ever want to disconnect your Spotify integration:
Desktop: User Settings > Connections > Spotify > Disconnect
Mobile: Your Profile > Connections > Spotify > Disconnect
