- Go to Sony’s website and check the specifications for your TV model under “Connectivity” > “Features specified in HDMI 2.1”. If “VRR” is listed, your TV supports it.
- Supported models include Z9J, X90J, X91J, X95J, A90J series and newer models.

Update your TV software
- Ensure your Sony TV is updated to the latest software version. VRR may be enabled via a software update.
- Go to Settings > System > System software update on your TV.
Enable Enhanced format for the HDMI input
- On your TV remote, press the Home button.
- Go to Settings > External inputs > HDMI signal format.
- Set the HDMI port connected to your gaming device to Enhanced format.
Turn on VRR for the input
- While on the same HDMI signal format settings screen, select VRR mode > On for the HDMI input your gaming device is connected to.
On your gaming device
- On your PS5/Xbox, go into settings and turn on VRR support as well.
