How to Hide and Make Game Activity Private on Steam Platform

  • Go to your Steam library and right-click on a game. Select “Manage” then “Mark as Private”. This will hide your ownership, playtime, and activity in that specific game from friends.

Make Your Profile Private

  • Click your username in the top right corner of the Steam client and select “View my profile”
  • Click “Edit profile” on the right side
  • Go to “Privacy settings” on the left side
  • For “Game details”, select “Private” from the dropdown menu
  • Click “Save changes”

Making your whole profile private will hide all game activity, ownership, playtime etc from everyone. You can also select “Friends only” to only show activity to friends.

Appear Offline in Steam Chat

  • Click “Friends & Chat” in the bottom right of the Steam client
  • Next to your username, click the arrow and select “Offline” or “Invisible”
  • This will show you as offline in chat while still allowing you to play games

So in summary, you can hide specific embarrassing games, make your whole profile private, or just show as offline in chat, depending on exactly what information you want to hide.
