Use the Search Bar
Skype has a search bar at the top of the chat window that allows you to search for messages, files, links, etc that have been shared in your conversations. Simply type a keyword into the search bar and it will return results across your Skype history.
Filter by File Type
You can filter your search results by file type to quickly find documents, photos, videos, or other media. Click the file type filters underneath the search bar to only see results of that type.
Search Within Conversations
If you remember the approximate date or contact you shared a file with, open up that conversation and use the conversation’s search bar to search just within that chat. This works the same as the main search bar but with a narrower scope.
Open the “Shared Files” section in Skype to browse all the files you have shared and received. This is organized by contact, so you can scan files exchanged with specific people.
Use Time Filters
Filter your search results by time period if you have an approximate date. This can help narrow down results and makes searches more precise.
