How to Turn On or Off Canvas in Spotify

On iOS

  • Go to Spotify app > Tap settings icon > Select “Playback” > Toggle “Canvas” on/off

On Android

  • Open Spotify app > Tap settings icon > Go to “Playback” > Toggle “Canvas” on/off

Considerations

  • Canvas only available on mobile apps, not desktop
  • Need to have Data Saver turned off
  • Feature not available in all countries/regions yet

For Artists Uploading Canvas

  • Go to Spotify for Artists > Select a track > Click “Add Canvas” > Upload video file
  • Video should be 3-8 seconds long, vertical 9:16 ratio, 720px-1080px tall
  • Avoid lyrics, talking, promote sales/links, flashing lights, etc.

So in summary, you can easily enable or disable Canvas on mobile by going into the Spotify app’s settings and toggling the Canvas option on/off under Playback. But availability may depend on your location, data/battery saver settings, app version etc.
