How To Add Paramount Plus to a Vizio TV

Adding Paramount+ to your Vizio TV is an easy process that allows you to access a wide variety of movies, TV shows, sports, and more. Paramount+ has thousands of hours of content, both old and new, from CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and Paramount Pictures.

Check Vizio TV Compatibility

Before getting started, you’ll want to make sure your specific Vizio TV model is compatible with Paramount+. Most newer Vizio smart TVs work with Paramount+, but some older models may not.

Compatible Vizio TV operating systems include:

  • Vizio SmartCast 3.0 and newer
  • Vizio SmartCast Home

To check, go to the main settings menu on your TV and look for the system information option. This will show details on the TV software version. If you see SmartCast 3.0 or newer, you should be good to proceed.

Sign Up For Paramount+

If you don’t already have a Paramount+ account, you’ll need to sign up. Paramount+ offers both ad-supported and commercial-free plans.

Paramount+ monthly pricing:

  • Essential Plan – $4.99 per month
  • Premium Plan – $9.99 per month

The Premium plan allows you to download content to watch offline. Both options offer a free 7-day trial for new subscribers.

To sign up:

  1. Open paramountplus.com in a web browser
  2. Select “Try It Free”
  3. Enter your email and create a password
  4. Choose between the Essential or Premium plan
  5. Enter payment details to start your free trial

Once signed up, you can move forward with adding the Paramount+ app to your Vizio TV.

Enable SmartCast Home

In order to add streaming apps like Paramount+, you’ll need to make sure the SmartCast Home feature is enabled on your Vizio TV.

To enable SmartCast Home:

  1. Press the menu button on your Vizio remote
  2. Navigate to and select System > Reset & Admin
  3. Highlight SmartCast Home and press OK
  4. Select Enabled
  5. Press the exit button on your remote

This will activate the necessary smart functionality to add and manage apps.

Download the Paramount+ App

With SmartCast Home enabled, you can now download the Paramount+ app directly on your Vizio TV.

To add the Paramount+ app:

  1. From the Vizio home screen, highlight the Apps icon and press OK
  2. Use the on-screen keyboard to search for “Paramount+”
  3. Highlight the Paramount+ app icon and press OK to select it
  4. Choose Install to download the app to your TV

This process may take a few minutes depending on your internet connection speed. Once installed, the Paramount+ icon will display in your Vizio TV apps row.

Log Into Your Paramount+ Account

The final step is to open the Paramount+ app and log into your account.

To sign in:

  1. Highlight and select the Paramount+ app icon
  2. Choose Sign In
  3. Enter your Paramount+ email and password
  4. Select Sign In

After signing in with your credentials, you will have full access to all Paramount+ content and profiles through your Vizio TV.

Troubleshooting Tips

If you have any issues getting Paramount+ setup on your compatible Vizio TV, here are some troubleshooting tips:

  • Double check that your Vizio TV software is SmartCast 3.0 or newer in the system information
  • Make sure SmartCast Home is enabled in the reset & admin settings
  • Check your internet connection and reboot your WiFi router if needed
  • Sign out and back into your Paramount+ app
  • Power cycle your Vizio TV by unplugging it for 1 minute
  • Contact Vizio or Paramount+ support for further help
