How to Change Clock Time on a Fitbit Tracker

Having an accurate time displayed on your Fitbit tracker is essential for effectively utilizing all of its features. However, sometimes the time may become out of sync due to traveling across time zones, daylight savings changes, or other errors. Thankfully, it is easy to update the clock on your Fitbit to display the correct time.

Why You May Need to Change the Time

There are a few common reasons why the time on your Fitbit can become inaccurate:

  • Traveling – When you travel to a different time zone, your Fitbit will not automatically update to the new time zone. You’ll need to manually adjust it.
  • Daylight savings – If you live in an area that observes daylight savings time, the clock will need to be updated twice a year when the time changes.
  • Syncing errors – Sometimes syncing issues between your Fitbit and phone can cause the time to become out of sync.
  • Manual time changes – If you or someone else manually changed the time on your phone or computer that your Fitbit syncs with, it can throw the Fitbit time off.

How to Change the Time from the Fitbit App

The easiest way to change the time displayed on your Fitbit is directly from the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet. Here is how:

  1. Open the Fitbit app on your phone or tablet.
  2. Tap on the “Today” tab at the bottom.
  3. Tap on your profile picture in the top left.
  4. Scroll down and select “Advanced Settings”.
  5. Tap on “Time Zone”.
  6. Turn off “Set Automatically” if it is on by tapping the toggle switch.
  7. Manually select your current time zone.
  8. Sync your Fitbit tracker to save the new time zone setting.

Once your tracker syncs with the app, the correct time will be displayed!

Changing the Time Format

Along with updating the actual time, you can also change whether your Fitbit displays the time in a 12 or 24 hour format. Follow these steps:

  1. In the Fitbit app, go to the “Today” tab.
  2. Tap your profile picture then select “App Settings”.
  3. Choose “Clock Display Time”.
  4. Pick between the 12 or 24 hour format.
  5. Sync your tracker.

Adjusting the Time on

You can also change the time zone and formatting directly on the Fitbit website dashboard:

  1. Go to and log into your account.
  2. Click on the gear icon in the top right and select “Settings”.
  3. Under “Personal Info”, choose your time zone.
  4. Scroll down to “Clock Display Time” to pick 12 or 24 hour format.
  5. Click “Submit” and sync your tracker.

Tips for Keeping the Correct Time

  • Make sure the “Set Automatically” option is enabled in the Fitbit app time settings whenever possible so the time will auto adjust.
  • Sync your tracker to your phone or computer frequently as this helps prevent the time from drifting.
  • Adjust for daylight savings time changes twice a year.
  • Manually adjust the timezone when traveling or moving.

With just a few taps in the Fitbit app or website dashboard, you can easily update the clock on your Fitbit tracker to keep your time accurate! Let me know if you have any other questions.
