How to Change WiFi Network Settings on Amazon Echo Show Device

Having an Amazon Echo Show device connected to a stable WiFi network is essential for it to function properly. As your home WiFi settings change over time, you may need to update the WiFi settings on your Echo Show. Fortunately, it’s easy to change the WiFi network and password your Echo Show connects to.

Prerequisites

Before changing the WiFi settings on your Echo Show, make sure:

  • You have the WiFi network name (SSID) and password for the network you want to connect your Echo Show to.
  • Your Echo Show is powered on and working.
  • You have the latest version of the Amazon Alexa app installed on your smartphone or tablet.

Via Echo Show Settings

The easiest way to change the WiFi network is directly on your Echo Show device:

  1. Swipe down from the top of your Echo Show screen and tap on Settings.
  2. Select Network from the list of settings.
  3. Tap on your current WiFi network.
  4. Enter the WiFi password when prompted. Tap Connect.
  5. Alternatively, scroll down and select Join Another Network.
  6. Enter the name and password for the new WiFi network.

Once connected, your Echo Show will use the new WiFi network.

Via Alexa App

You can also change the WiFi network from the Alexa app on your mobile device:

  1. Open the Alexa app.
  2. Tap on Devices in the bottom menu.
  3. Select Echo & Alexa from the top menu.
  4. Choose your Echo Show device.
  5. Tap on your device’s name to open settings.
  6. Under Wireless, tap Change next to Wi-Fi Network.
  7. Select the new WiFi network and enter the password.
  8. Wait for your Echo Show to connect to the new network.

Troubleshooting Tips

If your Echo Show has issues connecting to the new WiFi network, try these troubleshooting tips:

  • Restart your Echo Show by unplugging it and plugging back in.
  • Make sure you entered the correct WiFi password. Double check for typos.
  • Move your Echo Show closer to your WiFi router or access point for a better signal.
  • Disable 5GHz WiFi on your router and just use the 2.4GHz band, which has better range.
  • Temporarily reduce WiFi traffic by turning off other devices connected to WiFi.
  • Factory reset your Echo Show and set it up again from scratch.
