Check Your Wi-Fi Information
Before connecting, you’ll want to make sure you have the following Wi-Fi details:
- Network Name (SSID) – The name of your Wi-Fi network. This is also called the SSID.
- Password – The password needed to access your Wi-Fi network. Make sure it’s the correct password.
- Security Type – The type of security your network uses, such as WPA2.
You can find these details by checking your Wi-Fi router admin interface.
Access the Network Settings
To connect to Wi-Fi, you first need to access your TV’s network settings:
- Turn on your TV and grab the remote control.
- Press the Home button to access the Smart Hub.
- Use the directional pad to select Settings.
- Select General and then Network.
- Choose Open Network Settings.
This will display the available Wi-Fi networks.
Select Your Wi-Fi Network
From the list of available networks, select the name (SSID) of your Wi-Fi network.
Note: Some older Samsung TV models only support 2.4GHz networks. If you don’t see your 5GHz network, check if your router broadcasts a 2.4GHz network as well.
Enter the Password
If prompted, enter the Wi-Fi password for your network. Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the password carefully and accurately.
When finished, select Done.
Confirm the Connection
Your TV will now attempt to connect to your Wi-Fi network.
Once connected, you should see a “Connected to Internet” message. Select OK to confirm.
Tip: If the connection fails or your Wi-Fi network doesn’t show up, you may need to move your Wi-Fi router closer to your TV or troubleshoot other connectivity issues.
Connect to a Hidden Network
If your Wi-Fi network is hidden and doesn’t broadcast its name (SSID), you’ll need to manually add the network:
- Go to Open Network Settings
- Select Add Network at the bottom of the list
- Enter your network name (SSID)
- Select the security type and enter the password
- Select Done when finished
Your TV will connect to the hidden network.
Set Up a Wired Connection
Alternatively, you can use an Ethernet cable to connect your Samsung TV to your router or modem for a reliable wired internet connection:
- Connect the Ethernet cable to your TV’s LAN port
- Connect the other end to your router/modem
- Go to Settings > General > Network
- Select Open Network Settings
- Choose Wired
- Select OK to connect
