WooCommerce allows you to add variations on the product level. However, you might have noticed that the maximum number of variations to add per batch is limited to 50.
This can be a big problem especially if you have hundreds if not thousands of variations per product.
Luckily, you can increase the variations run to whatever number you want as long as the server is robust enough. Check out this guide!
1. Install and activate Markup by Attribute for WooCommerce on your WordPress site.
The plugin’s main function is to markup the price on certain attributes. But it also comes with an option to adjust the variations max.
2. Go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Markup by Attribute.
3. Set the Variation Max to the limit you want. Then, Save changes.
Now try to add a new product to see the result. The maximum limit should appear here.
Since we increased the number of variations per run, the process may take longer than it will otherwise. But this is still better than having to click “create variations” manually so many times.
Please also consider the server’s capability of handling such a task. In my case, I can run about 300 variations without any issue on cheap shared hosting.
It really depends on the server and website configuration. Hence, you probably need some work to find the sweet spot for your WooCommerce website.
