Hiding Past Transactions
- Open the Venmo app and go to your profile
- Tap on Settings (the gear icon)
- Select “Privacy”
- Tap on “Past Transactions”
- Choose “Change All to Private”
This will make all your previous Venmo transactions private.
Making Future Transactions Private
- In the Privacy settings, go to “Default Privacy Setting”
- Select “Private”
Now all future transactions will automatically be private.
The search results note that even if you delete your Venmo account, your transaction history remains in Venmo’s system and is still visible to the other parties involved. So making your transactions private is the best option to increase privacy.
Additionally, you can turn on two-factor authentication for extra security, stop Venmo from automatically friending contacts, and hide your friends list.
