How To Set Up and Configure Hotmail Email Account on Android Smartphones

  1. You may need to tap “Manual setup” and select either IMAP or POP3 depending on if you want to sync contacts/calendar or just email. Enter your Hotmail login credentials.
  2. For IMAP, use the Outlook server outlook.office365.com, port 993, SSL security. For POP3, use pop3.live.com, port 995, SSL security.
  3. For sending email via SMTP, use smtp.office365.com, port 587, TLS or STARTTLS security. Require sign-in should be checked.
  4. Follow any additional prompts to finish setting up sync settings, notifications, etc. Give the account a name if desired.
  5. If having issues, make sure your username, password, and server settings are entered correctly. Try removing and re-adding the account. Check if 2-step verification is enabled and use an app password.
  6. As an alternative, download the Outlook app for Android and add your Hotmail account there for dedicated Hotmail support.
